With a slimmer design, bigger displays, and a more affordable price in mind, the Mix Fold 2 was launched in China by the company.
The original Mi Mix Fold had a number of improvements over the Mix Fold 2. The Fold 2 is powered by the latest version of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 system-on-a-chip and has a variety of storage and memory capacities. It is available in either gold or black.
There is a long 21:9 aspect ratio outer display and an 8.02 inch inner display, which are both larger than the 6.2 inch outer display. The displays have a brightness of 1000 nits. The main folding display and the outer display are protected by the toughest glass on the market.
The foldable features a triple camera setup with a primary 50-megapixel camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and an eight-megapixel telephoto camera. A hole-punch camera is in the front of the camera.
If the Mix Fold 2 ever ships to markets outside of China, there will be some much-needed competition in the foldables market. One way that the Chinese company is trying to get a leg up over its Korean competitors is by claiming that it is the world's lightest foldable phone. It shaves almost 15 percent off the thickness of the phone.
Flex mode and IPX8 water resistance are two features that theXiaomi Mix Fold 2 lacks. The 4,400mAh battery found inside the Z Fold 4 is a tad larger than the 4,500mAh battery found in theXiaomi Mi 8. The Mix Fold 2 supports 67W wired fast charging and the brand claims that a full charge can be achieved in 40 minutes, while the Z Fold 4 only supports up to 25W fast charging.
The phone is only available for purchase in China, and there are no announcements about when it will be available in other countries. The price of the base model of the Z Fold 4 is around 1,300 dollars, which is less than the price of the larger version.
If those prices hold for an international launch, then there could be serious competition in foldables, especially in price-sensitive markets like India, whereXiaomi is already No. 1 by market share.
