There is a way to get a 90Hz mode on the 6.1-inch display of the Pixel 6a. A mod has been created and a custom rom is in the works to make it easy for anyone with a Pixel 6a to get the 90Hz mode on their phone.

Sean Hollister has tested the mod on his own phone and it works. We don't know if the display panel really supports 90Hz or if this is an attempt to increase the refresh rate. We wanted to know if there were constraints on the display panel or if it was simply software locked.

The two displays aren't exactly the same.

The mod is working very hard right now. If you want to get the 90Hz option unlocked on the Pixel 6a, you have to enable Debugging mode and unlocked the phone, and then manually flash anANDROID 13 BETA with some checks disabled.

It's probably best to wait on a custom rom if you've never heard of them. The ability to force the max refresh rate in the developer settings is unlocked by the results of all these hacks.

The mod has been tested by others in the community. We noticed a green tint on his phone after he applied the mod.

Concerns have been raised about the long term effects on the display. The developer warns that the display of the Pixel 6a may not be as good as the one in the other phones. The mod will only work on more than 100 phones, according to The Lunarixus.

The Lunarixus says that the mod is not pushing the panel any harder in terms of power. We use our own table and no voltages were altered here.

They are working on a custom rom that will be ready for the public. We will keep an eye on our own device to see if there are any long term effects ofunlocking the 90Hz mode, and we hope that the 90Hz option is officially available on the Pixel 6a, as this could be the reason why the option isn't officially available on
