Rodrguez was hit on the wrist by a pitch in Houston. Rodrguez was able to come off the injured list Wednesday, but the team decided to give him another couple of days to recover.
The road trip begins in Texas.
Casali will be joining the team for the first time after being traded from San Francisco. Casali had an oblique injury and was on a rehabilitation assignment.
In order to clear spots on the roster, Seattle optioned outfielder Jarred Kelenic and catcher Luis Torrens. Kelenic hit a home run in New York in his most recent stint with the Seattle.
Torrens, who has been a disappointment at the plate this season, hit the game-winning hit in the 13th to give the Dodgers a win over the Yankees. Torrens is batting.214 with one home run
