It has started to put its hardware through its paces.

Musk's company is preparing for the first-ever orbital flight test of a vehicle consisting of a huge booster called Super Heavy and an upper-stage spaceship.

The booster 7 Super Heavy prototype and the ship 24 Starship vehicle will be used for the orbital leap. Booster 7 and Ship 24 breathed fire in tests on Tuesday, briefly lighting up their engines while remaining anchored to the ground.

The Super Heavy rocket is on the stand.

Booster 7 conducted a long static fire on Starbase's launch mount on Thursday. The burn took place at 3: 48 pm. The time lasted for 20 seconds, according to the company.

Shortly before Booster 7 fired up, Musk posted on his verified account that the burn was to test autogenous pressurization.

According to NASASpaceflight.com, Booster 7 did not ignite one of its 33 Raptors on Tuesday or Thursday.

As the test campaign progresses, it's likely that the vehicles' engines will be fired up more and more.

It could be possible to establish footholds on the moon and Mars with the help of the new technology. NASA chose the vehicle as the first crewed landers for its Artemis program of lunar exploration.

The upcoming test flight is a crucial step in the path. Booster 7 will splash down in the Gulf of Mexico after liftoff, and ship 24 will circle Earth once and then come down in the ocean near the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

At 6 p.m., the story was changed. The statement that the engine burn lasted for 20 seconds was made by the company.
