Sutton's Predictions

The opening weekend of the premier league did not go according to plan for everyone, including the new predictions expert from the british Broadcasting Corporation.

He was defeated by his first guest, Ali Bruce-Ball, who got more exact scores than he did.

It's a victory for me, as far as I'm concerned. I've said that to Ali as well.

I have been able to get more results right than my opponent. It's like he won the lottery with a few scores.

Every top-flight game this season will be played against a variety of guests.

He is competing against Serge Pizzorno for this weekend's games.

"Serge knows his football, but he is probably a bit in fear of me after seeing how accurate I was last week."

"If he is going to go on sentiment and backLeicester to win, then he is not going to beat my knowledge of the league."

Kasabian
Kasabian's new album, The Alchemist's Euphoria, is out on Friday - five of their six albums so far have reached number one and the Leicester band have had 12 UK Top 40 singles. They begin their UK tour in October.

With another fortnight before the transfer window closes, and uncertainty over the future of several of their players, Pizzorno isn't sure what the new season will bring for his beloved Foxes.

He said that a difference of a couple of weeks made a difference.

With Youri Tielemans only a year left on his contract, it felt like the time was right to sell him and use the money to bring in some new faces.

We had a large squad because we were in Europe. Getting rid of a few fringe players wouldn't be a problem since we haven't got that yet.

I think we have a good chance of the top six and a good cup run. That is finished.

It feels weird that he has gone to Nice. He was supposed to end his career with us.

I'm hearing that Jamie Vardy is going to Manchester United, and that James Maddison is going to a different club.

"Obviously none of those are done deals apart from Kasper, but it just felt like we went from cruising a bit to possibly losing the core of a very good side, especially now they are not injured."

Injuries and playing in Europe every Thursday night made it difficult for us last season. The reason we ended up finishing eighth is because of that, but it's difficult to maintain because every team can win anywhere.

The way we did was close to the top four. It's more difficult this year because of the strength of the two teams, but we should just get through this transfer window and try to keep hold of those players.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Harvey Barnes are both local boys and are both great players. James is a great young talent.

SUTTON'S PREDICTIONS

Unless otherwise stated, the games start at sundown.

SATURDAY

Aston Villa v Everton

Aston Villa v Everton (12:30 BST)

This is not easy to begin with.

Even with Salomon Rondon back from suspension, they still look light up front despite the fact that they didn't have a specialist forward in their defeat by Chelsea.

I didn't think Villa would lose to Bournemouth, but they need a positive result after that performance.

What is going to happen this time after Steven Gerrard was so critical of his side?

You can sense that the Villa fans will be frustrated if they don't beat them.

The prediction was one point.

Serge thinks that Villa will not slip up at home. The two were 2-0.

Arsenal v Leicester

Arsenal v Leicester

It seems like all is not well atLeicester, who have not made any signings.

I get the sense that Brendan Rodgers is not happy with the situation and, on the pitch, they blew a two- goal lead.

At the moment, everything seems to be going well at the club. The fans are excited about what they could do.

I don't want to jump on that bandwagon because I think their bubble will eventually burst a little bit, but I like what Gabriel Jesus has done and I think they should edge this one.

The prediction was 1-2.

Serge's prediction is that we will nick it after about 81 minutes and it will be Jamie Vardy with a back-post headed goal. We will get out with the three points. The first 0-1.

His situation is the biggest concern because of his ridiculous numbers and what he does for the team. He is so great. When he stops playing, where are we going to find a player who is going to score 25 goals a season? To get his sort of numbers, you are talking about £70-80m, so you are never going to get another miracle find like he was.

Serge said that it might feel like our chance has passed now, but he still has hope. Anything is possible, that's what the title win in 2016 byLeicester showed. You never know if we hold onto everyone.

Brighton v Newcastle

Brighton v Newcastle

I'm wondering how can you predict this.

The discussion about what happened to Manchester United on Sunday did not include a mention of the Seagulls.

Graham Potter has a good team and a good watch.

It's the same for both of them. The way they started the season was nice.

Going forward, Forest were not great.

I like to watch Eddie Howe's teams and I'm expecting this to be a lot of fun. I think the draw will end with the points being shared.

The prediction was one point.

Serge thinks thatNewcastle are going to have a good season. The World Cup could open it up for someone to break into the top four if things are disrupted by the tournament. The team that went on an amazing run in the second half of last season might be able to do it again if they can get the same kind of start. I apologize if I have just killed them.

Man City v Bournemouth

Manchester City v Bournemouth

He is going to lick his lips before this one. Bournemouth would be in trouble if Manchester City scored first.

I think the Cherries will try to limit damage if they go behind.

Bournemouth are the tallest team in the league, and they are going to get walloped this weekend.

He predicted that it would be five.

Serge thinks this could be a big score. I wouldn't want to be close to Erling Haaland's home debut. City are still the team to beat in the title race despite the fact that they will be pushed all the way byLiverpool. It was four

Southampton v Leeds

Southampton v Leeds

One of my tips for staying in the Championship is that they will probably win this week because they got off to a good start.

The lead was taken by the Saints and they were beaten by Spurs last weekend.

Although going to Spurs was a very difficult start to the season for Saints, it is difficult to say how damaging that defeat will be.

If a team takes eight points from their first five games, they have a good chance of staying in the top flight.

I'm not sure how they will bounce back here, but I'm going to go withSouthampton.

The prediction was 1-2.

Serge predicts that Leeds will win this one. The first 0-1.

Wolves v Fulham

Wolves v Fulham

After signing a new forward this week, Wolves now have a single goal scorer.

They have some talented players, but they are a little worried about their performance againstLeeds.

I don't know what to expect from Bruno Lage's side until the season ends, but I am expecting another feisty display from the Cottagers.

The players in the team look like they've got a goal threat, and that's because of them.

I am tempted to go with a win for the Cottagers, but they are another team I have backed to go down. It's going to be a draw.

The prediction was one point.

Serge predicted that he would be going with Fulham. One of the strikers who is really dangerous when he is on form is Mitrovic. The numbers are 1-2.

Brentford v Man Utd

Brentford v Manchester United (17:30)

Normally, I would expect Manchester United to react to what happened.

Not this time, because United have a lot of problems. I don't blame ten Hag for the situation they are in, but he needs to fix their problems.

I don't like Lisandro and Harry at the back. How fit is the man up front?

Unless United clicks, they are going to struggle again, like they did in the past.

They should lose because they thought better of signing Bologna's Marko Arnautovic than they did.

Some people might think this prediction is bad, but it's not as bad as United being linked with Arnautovic.

The prediction was made by the man.

Serge has a hunch that Brentford are going to win, but he might be wrong. I can see how United will be able to figure it out, but this is a difficult game for them. The two were 2-0.

SUNDAY

Nottingham Forest v West Ham

Nottingham Forest v West Ham (14:00)

It's not going to be easy for West ham. It's Forest's first home game in the premier league so they will have a go at them

I don't think the injuries at the back will stop the Hammers from edging it.

He predicted 1-2.

Serge thinks it's great to have Forest back in the premier league because of the derby games against them. I'm only going one direction here. Affirmative.

Chelsea v Tottenham

Chelsea v Tottenham (16:30)

They have beaten Spurs four times in a row, and they have only beaten them once in the league in the past.

I have a hunch that Antonio Conte will enjoy this meeting more than he did the last time they met.

The way they got it was not pretty. They will not get away with it if they are off it again on Sunday.

I expect more of the same from them here, as they were devastating in attack against Saints.

I'm going to go with Spurs to get the points because of the return of Conte.

When that turnover happens, they counter-attack very well. They are difficult to stop when they get the ball into Kane.

He predicted 1-2.

Serge predicts that this will be very cagey. It was a one-sided affair.

MONDAY

Liverpool v Crystal Palace

Liverpool v Crystal Palace (20:00)

Things don't get any easier for Palace now that they have lost their first game of the season.

After dropping points against Cottager, this is a must win game for the Reds.

There are a few injury problems for the Reds, but the biggest problem for them is that they have to start a new player.

I don't think that would happen if he left him on the bench.

It's going to be difficult for Palace.

It was predicted that it would be 4-0.

Serge thinks we'll see the same thing as before, as it's at Anfield. It was 2-0.

The two men were talking to Chris Bevan.

How did Sutton do last week?

Six correct results from 10 matches gave him 60 points.

He was beaten by Ali Bruce-Ball, who only got five correct results but with two exact scores, giving him a total of 120 points.

How did you get on?

Out of 112,000 votes, only 8% of you thought the Reds would draw at the Cottage. The majority of you thought the Reds would win.

Bournemouth's win over Villa was one of the results that surprised Chris, his guest and most of the rest of the world.

Chris, Ali and 85% of you predicted a Spurs win over the Saints, which was the most popular prediction.
