Mick Mulvaney, who was Trump's White House chief of staff, believes that an FBI mole would be one of the six to eight people closest to the president.

The FBI raided Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence on Monday.

He said that he thought the person who gave the tip-off was a very close friend of Trump.

According to Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal, someone has told the authorities that classified government documents may have been mishandled.

Mulvaney was the chief of staff for 15 months and he didn't know there was a safe.

Someone very close to the president would be the person who would give the information.

According to Mulvaney, there's probably six or eight people who have that kind of information.

He said that if you know where the safe is and the documents are in the basement, you are close to the president.

He didn't know who the people in Trump's "inside circle" were at the moment, and couldn't give specific names.

He wanted the FBI to give more information. He said that the burden is on them to show that they are on top of their game. They can and should release that affidavit.

There is suspicion that there is a mole close to the former president. According to reports, someone may have "flipped" on the former president and started working with the FBI.

Michael Cohen told Insider that he wouldn't be surprised if the mole was one of Trump's children or his son-in-law.

If the DOJ's motion to unseal court records regarding the raid goes through, the FBI may be able to give an official reason for its search of Mar-a-Lago.

The Washington Post reported that the FBI searched for classified documents about nuclear weapons while Donald Trump was in office.
