The Atlanta Braves have placed starting pitcher Max Fried on the seven-day concussion injured list after he hit his head during Saturday's game.

Fried fell while trying to get Francisco Lindor out on a throw to home plate.

Fried allowed four runs in sixinnings despite being injured.

The Braves are in second place in the NL East with a 66-46 record. He is having a great year. He is 10-4 with a 2.60 earned run, 1.08 WHIP and 127 strikeouts in 22 starts.

Over the last three years, Fried has been particularly good. He earned his first Gold Glove after finishing fifth in Cy Young voting.

He was selected to the All-Star Game.

Atlanta will make it back to the World Series this year with Fried as their ace. It seems like he won't be out for long.

They should be able to carry the rotation in the meantime. Strider is having a good season in his first year in the majors, posting a 6-3 record in 24 starts with a 3.11 earned run average, 1.05 WHIP and 138 strikeouts.
