Feds were looking for classified documents about nuclear weapons during raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago, Washington Post reports

The Washington Post reported Thursday that the FBI was searching for classified documents related to nuclear weapons during a raid on Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence.

The people didn't say if the documents concerned nuclear weapons belonging to the US or other countries. The documents may have been recovered in the search.

The Attorney General is moving to have the search warrant made public, despite the Justice Department not saying what it was looking for.

Garland signed off on the search warrant. The Justice Department had no choice but to try and recover the documents because they were so important to national security, according to people briefed on the documents.

Insider was told by legal experts that federal officials probably got a high degree of probable cause before the judge signed off on the search warrant.
