During a campaign event Wednesday, Beto O'Rourke appeared to violate his pledge not to use the F-word.
An event attendee appeared to laugh while O'Rourke spoke about the May mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, sparking the Democratic candidate's profanity-laden rant. O'Rourke was railing against state laws that allowed the Uvalde shooting suspect to get a high-powered rifle on his 18th birthday.
The weapon that was designed for use on the battlefields of Vietnam to penetrate an enemy's soldier helmet at 500 feet and knock him down dead was recreated by O'Rourke.
After hearing the laughter from the crowd, he turned around.
Beto O'ROURKE has called for the establishment of a "PUBLICITY SUNT" in the DC area.
"It may be funny to you, mother, but it's not funny to me," O'Rourke yelled, leading to loud applause from his supporters.
The 2020 presidential candidate pledged to stop using the F-word. A voter asked about the man's cursing.
Beto O'Rourke is holding 70 events in Texas this summer.
I don't want to use the F-word in the future. It was a point taken and very strong. He said in March that they would keep it clean.
O'Rourke broke the pledge just months after he made it.
"We're averaging about 300 mass shootings a year, no other country comes close, so yes, this is f---ed up," he said during a CNN town hall in September. We will continue to have bloodshed in America if we don't call it out for what it is.
After falling behind in the polls, O'Rourke dropped out of the race. He lost to Ted Cruz in the Senate race.
O'Rourke decided to run for governor of Texas.
We can push past the small and divisive politics that we see in Texas today, and get back to the big, bold vision that used to define Texas.
He is going to face Abbott. According to FiveThirtyEight, recent polls show Abbott leading O'Rourke.
There was no response from the O'Rourke campaign.
