According to a court filing, a San Diego woman has filed a countersuit against Bauer, accusing him of beating her and leaving her bruised.
He denied abusing the woman he met. He accused her of lying about their sexual encounters in order to destroy his career and reputation.
Bauer was suspended by Major League Baseball after he sued the woman. Bauer has said that he did not do anything that would warrant a suspension.
The woman's battery claim was filed Tuesday in Los Angeles.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied the woman a restraining order last year. The judge said she had been deceptive.
Her claims were false and she was not able to meet the lowest burden of proof in the justice system. She is being sued for defamation because of the damage she has done. Her countersuit is a repetition of her judicially disproven claims and an attempt to make money from her lies.
According to the woman's lawsuit, her life has been turned into a nightmare by a powerful man who brutally battered her and counted on facing no consequences for his despicable conduct. The woman had two black eyes after a single encounter.
A jury trial is required for the lawsuit to be heard.
In her response to Bauer's defamation suit, the woman denied allegations by his lawyers that she made a false, misleading or defamatory police report and that she had altered or Filters photographs in requesting a restraining order.
The woman denied that she had a plan to ruin Bauer's reputation or exploit him for money, even though she admitted that she was angry at him because he had sexually assault her.
Criminal charges against Bauer were not filed by the Los Angeles District Attorney.
Bauer is appealing his suspension by MLB and is also suing two media outlets for defamation. There is no set time for a decision.
