The lives of patriotic public servants were put at risk when the FBI raided the Mar-a-Lago resort, according to Rep. Liz Cheney.

The integrity of the FBI agents involved in the Mar-a-Lago search was attacked by members of my party. These comments endanger the lives of public servants.

Cheney didn't say who she was calling out. The FBI searched Trump's property earlier this week. According to reports, agents were looking into whether Trump still had classified material.

Many Republicans pushed for more information about the FBI's actions. It was suggested that agents might have planted evidence to trap Trump. The search was compared to dictatorships. The nation's top law enforcement agency was compared to the Gestapo, the Nazi secret police, by some on the right.

Cheney has gone after other Republicans for not taking the January 6 insurrection seriously. Even though she was ousted from House GOP leadership, she continued to criticize Trump. Cheney is up against a Trump-backed opponent next week.

The Attorney General issued a strong defense of his department and the FBI.

Garland told reporters that he wouldn't stand by silently when their integrity was attacked. The FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated public servants.
