The people of Grand Rapids were shocked to see a man in a jetsuit blast over the river and dive through the arch of the bridge.
The man with the jetpack was Alex Wilson, who has been testing the gear for a UK-based company. Wilson has donned the suit at more than 200 events.
He told reporters that anyone can do it. "This isn't a plane, it's you flying."
The suits, which the company likes to refer to as "1,000 horsepower jet suits," are attached to the wearer's arms and back.
It is possible for inexperienced thrill-seekers to try out the jetpack at a training facility just outside of London, UK.
The military and first responders could one day use the technology to help out in emergencies.
There is a chance that we will see more of these suits in the future. Tim Draper, who invested early in both Musk's companies, is interested in Gravity.
It's only a matter of time before Wilson becomes a staple in the arsenal of first responders and military units.
