The Denver Broncos have a new president in Damani Leech.

Penner made the announcement on his second day of work.

Leech spent the past three years as the CEO of the NFL International and has 25 years of experience in sports.

Joe Ellis stepped down as CEO and team president after the league's other owners unanimously approved the group's purchase of the team.

Leech will be in charge of the operations of the team and Stadium Management Co.

George Paton is in charge of football operations and he will be reporting to Penner.

Penner said that Damani stood out among several very qualified candidates to guide the Broncos into this exciting new chapter. The reputation of the Broncos and Damani's strong credentials spoke to the high degree of interest in this opportunity.

Leech said, "Greg and the other partners are visionary leaders, and the trust they have shown in me is deeply gratifying." I support our world-class ownership, leadership team and staff on their journey to drive innovation and growth throughout the Denver Broncos.

After 17 years at the NCAA, Leech joined the NFL as vice president of football strategy and business development. He was the chief operating officer of the league.

Leech was a three-time first-team All-Ivy League selection as a defensive back at the Ivy League school. He obtained a masters degree in higher education administration from Indiana University.

Leech is like the three limited investors in the Broncos ownership group. The National Football League wants to bring more racial diversity into ownership groups, front offices and coaching staffs.
