According to sources, the New York Jets finalized a two-year, $22 million contract with offensive tackle Duane Brown.

The veteran free agent visited with the Jets over the weekend.

Before the injury, the Jets began courting Brown. Initially, coach Robert Saleh said Brown would be a bonus because he was satisfied with his tackle situation, but that changed Monday night when it was learned that he had a chip fracture in his knee.

The next Gen Stats are from the National Football League.

He has 203 career starts at left tackle. A source said that his position with the Jets has not been decided. He will discuss it once he arrives. He didn't miss a start the past two years. He played in the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement.

Brown did a good job for the Seahawks. He was ranked 26th in pass block win rate.

George Fant will return to right tackle if Brown plays left tackle. Both of the current backups are not certain of making the final roster. He injured his ankle in the scrimmage and will be out for a couple of weeks. Max Mitchell was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round.

The right-tackle job was open for competition. Edoga, who has 12 career starts, is likely to start against the Eagles, but he is just a substitute.

The quarterback is the most important person on the team. The person who is most prepared to protect the quarterback will be on the field.

The Jets searched for an experienced backup. Riley Reiff signed with the Chicago Bears after visiting with them. There was a heightened sense of importance with the injury.

Brown was arrested at the airport for carrying a concealed weapon. After posting a $10,000 bond, he was released from jail.
