Three days after FBI agents raided the Florida residence of former President Donald Trump, the Attorney General is set to make a statement.

Since the raid on the Mar-a-Lago club, the Justice Department has faced pressure to give a public explanation.

Trump, who is a Republican, and his allies have said the search was politically motivated and pointed the finger at the Biden administration.

The FBI took a number of boxes from the residence.

She said that agents left a copy of the search warrant, which indicated they were investigating possible violations of laws related to the Presidential Records Act.

A senior White House official told NBC News that they didn't know what Garland would say.

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland speaks to the press at the Justice Department after all three defendants were found guilty of federal hate crimes for murder of a young Black man, Ahmaud Arbrey in Washington, DC, U.S., February 22, 2022.

The official said that they didn't know that he was giving remarks and didn't know what he was saying.

Garland and the Justice Department don't comment on criminal investigations before charges are filed.
