It's the last time in the year to see a super moon.

The event is not expected to be visible to the naked eye until after 9 pm. According to NASA, Thursday will be the last day in that phase.

There are four super moons of the year.

What is a supermoon?

A super moon is a full moon that is close to Earth. The perigee is still close to Earth.

When the moon is at its farthest point away from Earth, supermoons are larger and brighter.

The moon is also known as the Green Corn Moon.

What to look for

The moon is larger and brighter when it is at its farthest point away from us. Most full moons are not as bright as a super moon. Even though it's bigger and brighter, binoculars might give you a better view.
