The 500 mile-range version of the Semi truck will be available before the end of the year, according to Musk.

After the CEO said in January that the company wouldn't be introducing any new vehicles this year, the launch date was earlier than anticipated.

The update was shared by Musk on Wednesday. The post included confirmation that the Cybertruck will be shipping in 2023, a date that he revealed in January after several production delays of the electric pickup.

The Class 8 truck has experienced a number of delays since it was unveiled five years ago and interested buyers are having to exercise a lot of patience.

When loaded with its 80,000-pound maximum gross vehicle weight, the Semi can achieve zero to 60 mph in 20 seconds. It also includes four independent motor for maximum power and speed, which results in low per-mile energy costs.

A prototype of the Semi was seen transporting cars along a California freeway in what appeared to be an early road test. A video was released last year showing the truck humming on a test track.

A Semi with a 300-mile range will also be launched by the company. The latter is expected to cost $150,000.

Cybertruck

The Cybertruck is going to start shipping in 2023. The Cybertruck's original launch plan was pushed back due to production delays. Multiple supply chain challenges were blamed for the delays.

The Cybertruck was shown off in an event that didn't go as planned. Depending on features such as the number of electric motor, towing capacity, and range, the pickup will cost between $39,900 and $69,900.
