Jack Chen noticed a chemical taste in his lemonade around March and April. According to court documents, he was diagnosed with stomach problems. Chen put cameras in the house to see if he was poisoned by his wife. According to a request for a restraining order filed on August 5, a Newport Beach doctor claims his wife poisoned him with Drano on three separate occasions. Jack Chen asked for a restraining order against his wife.
On August 4, Yu was arrested by the Irvine Police Department. She was released a day later.
David E. Wohl, Yu's attorney, told Insider that she has not been charged.
According to court documents, the husband said that he noticed a "chemical taste" in his lemonade which he liked to drink hot.
According to the filing requesting a restraining order, when Chen developed symptoms, he went to the doctor for an examination and it revealed two stomach ulcers.
According to Chen's request for a restraining order, he put cameras in the kitchen because he suspected the chemical taste was bad. On three occasions, Emily poisoned me.
Steven Hittleman, Chen's lawyer, told USA Today that his client recorded Yu putting drain cleaner in his drinks.
"After the first video of finding out she was poisoning him, he took his morning tea and put Saran wrap over it," Hittelman told USA Today. There is a long history of alleged abuse by Yu and her mother.
According to Chen, his wife and mother-in-law were abusive to him and his children.
If you could call Emily's parenting that, it would be yelling, insulting, verbal abusing, hitting, pushing, pulling, and being emotionally abusive.
These false allegations were made by Mr. Chen to gain an advantage in his divorce and custody case against Ms. Yu.
