When Sony showed the first trailer for Final Fantasy VII Re remake, the crowd cheered. The fans were excited to see the characters again. There is a virtual reality mod for the PC version of the game that will immerse you into Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith.
You have to pay $10 a month to support Ross' work and get access to his mod, but it's worth it. His popular mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and Mafia: Definitive Edition was the subject of a DMCA takedown notice. He decided to remove all references to those games from his account because he was afraid that Patreon would shut down his account and kill his money.
It wasn't clear what Ross would do after that. He usually adds support for one game a month, and today's release for Final Fantasy VII Remaking Intergrade means he's still on time.
Take a look at the video captured by Brian Tate that will give you a rough idea of what the mod will look like.
First, Ross warns that the mod is going to hit you with the force of a speeding steel train, and second, I haven't tried it yet because I don't think it's worth the trouble. Some of the game's camera movements leave even him breathless, he says... and as I established in my previous story, I don't have anywhere close to Ross' fortitude in virtual reality.
I already have a perfectly good copy of FF VII for PS5 that I beat months ago, Yuffie DLC and all, and it's 70 dollars on PC. I might be able to play it again next winter when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth comes out.
The Half-Life 2: Virtual Reality project is going to go into public alpha this September. According to Ross, his next project will be Spider-Man.
