The ad-supported tier of Disney Plus will be available on December 8th at a price of $7.99 per month. There will be a price hike for the ad-free plan.

Disney had said earlier this year that the plan would arrive in late 2022. The company isn't expecting to launch its own tier until early next year. Everything will not be available at launch. We don't know if there will be the same restrictions if you choose Disney Plus.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek said during the company's third quarter earnings call that the ad tier will have a lower ad load and Frequency to ensure a great experience. Disney plans to keep ad breaks to four minutes per hour. Christine McCarthy said on the call that Disney wouldn't run ads on kids profiles. The ad tier is expected to be expanded internationally in the years to come.

The Disney Plus ad tier is only available if you pay more for no ads. The price of that annual subscription will be going up.
