He hasn't played since the end of the 2020 season. 25 women have filed lawsuits against him, accusing him of sexual assault or harassment. The alleged behavior took place during massage sessions.
The lawsuit was dropped because of the privacy concerns of the person who filed it. He wasn't indicted on criminal charges in Texas in March. Twenty-three of the 24 lawsuits have been settled.
Sue L. Robinson, a former federal judge, said that her decision on the suspension was based on precedent and that his actions did not fall into the category of violent conduct that would necessitate a minimum six-game suspension. Roger Goodell said Tuesday that the league believes a one-year suspension is justified.
It was predatory behavior and there were many violations.
