Jeff Bezos wearing suit looks into distance at White House event
  • There was a yacht at the shipyard.

  • After it was towed up the river, the vessel appeared to be fully assembled.

  • The ship builder asked to dismantle a landmark to allow Bezos' yacht to pass.

The megayacht looks close to completion.

The 417-foot vessel was spotted floating at the Greenport shipyard in the Netherlands. Video footage from Dutch Yachting shows us the closest look yet at Bezos' yacht.

The video can be watched below.

It's one of the world's most impressive — and controversial — yachts

The huge yacht has been the subject of a lot of debate.

In order to get the vessel from the shipyard to the open water, it had to pass through Rotterdam and under the Koningshaven Bridge.

Locals felt that Jeff Bezos was throwing his weight around to dismantle a local landmark when Oceanco proposed to temporarily remove the center portion of the bridge. The residents threw rotten eggs at the yacht.

Oceanco withdrew its request due to fears of vandals and harassment. Last week in the early hours of the morning, the company towed the yacht up the river without masts.

It seems that the yacht is ready to head out to sea.

Brad Stone's book "Amazon Unbound" reported the existence of Bezos' megayacht. Stone reported that the yacht is expected to cost $500 million and is expected to be one of the best sailing yachts in existence.
