A group of billionaires, including Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, are backing a company that hopes to find resources for clean energy in the western part of the island.

KoBold Metals is looking for rare and precious metals and minerals that can be used to make electric cars and renewable batteries.

"We are looking for a discovery that will be one of the largest, most significant nickel andcobalt deposits in the world, potentially capable of power 100 million electric vehicles," a spokesman for KoBold said.

The minerals and metals for the batteries and electric vehicles are believed to be in the hills and valleys of Disko Island.

KoBold is working with a mining company. CNN reported that it was the first media outlet to show the work of the team.

The KoBold spokesman said that the greatest challenge of the generation was fully electricising the global economy. Our efforts to find the key materials for the EV revolution will be accelerated by partnering with this broad group of world-class investors.

According to CNN, the team is using artificial intelligence to find areas for drilling. The team is using drones and helicopter to look out the layers below the surface.

Bo Mller Stensgaard, CEO of Bluejay Mining, told CNN that it's a concern to see the consequences of the climate change. Climate changes have made it easier and more accessible to explore and mine in the region.
