Former U.S. President Donald Trump leaves Trump Tower to meet with New York Attorney General Letitia James for a civil investigation on August 10, 2022 in New York City.Former U.S. President Donald Trump leaves Trump Tower to meet with New York Attorney General Letitia James for a civil investigation on August 10, 2022 in New York City.

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he wouldn't answer questions at a deposition in a civil investigation into his business.

Shortly after he arrived at the AG's office in New York City, Trump announced that he was going to give an interview.

I once asked why you were taking the Fifth Amendment. Trump railed against James as a prosecutor with a vendetta against him and now he knows the answer.

When your family, your company, and all the people in your circle have become the target of a politically motivated witch hunt supported by lawyers, prosecutors, and the Fake News Media, you have no choice but to.

He said that he wouldn't answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen.

Two days after the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago, Trump refused to answer questions. The search was related to an investigation into whether laws were broken when boxes of White House records ended up at Mar-a-Lago instead of the National Archives.

James is investigating allegations that the Trump Organization overstated the value of some of its real estate assets.

Trump denied doing anything wrong. In a post on his social media platform, Trump said that he would be deposed on Wednesday morning.

He accused James of being racist and two other Black prosecutors of doing the same.

Trump and his children refused to testify under oath for James' investigation.

Donald Jr. and his sister answered questions from James' investigators last week.

On Wednesday, Trump left his residence in Midtown Manhattan to go to James' office for his deposition.

NBC has previously reported that Donald Trump Jr. and his sister did not invoke their Fifth Amendment right when they were questioned. According to a court filing from January, Eric Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment right more than 500 times when he was questioned under oath.

A spokeswoman for James didn't respond to a question about the former president's refusal to answer.

After five years of looking, the Federal, State and local governments, along with the Fake News Media, have found nothing.

Trump said that he wouldn't allow a prosecutor to use the investigation as a way to advance her career.

After the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, Trump decided to plead the Fifth in James' deposition. The current administration and many prosecutors in this country have lost all moral and ethical bounds of decency.
