The experience of filming her first kiss was nerve-racking.
Sam and Freddie's kiss in the second season of "i Carly" was McCurdy's first on-screen kiss.
She said a man yelled at her to move her head more while filming.
While starring in the hit sitcom " i Carly", the formerNickelodeon star had a bad experience filming her first ever kiss.
In her new memoir, "I'm Glad My Mom died," McCurdy wrote about her time as Sam Puckett in "i Carly" and the spin-off series "Sam & Cat," both of which were created by Dan Schneider.
"i Carly" ran for six seasons between 2007 and 2012 and starred Miranda and Nathan. When they were in high school, Sam, Carly, and Freddie created a successful web series.
The two characters in the show had a brief romance.
Sam and Freddie kissed in the second episode of the season. After both of them said they hadn't kissed anyone before, the moment happened.
She said that the scene marked her first kiss in real life and on screen. The creator yelled at the actress while she was shooting, making her nervous.
McCurdy said that their lips are touching. He's moving his mouth but I can't. I'm not feeling well. His eyes are not open I'm not sure if mine are. mine are looking at him It's weird to stare at a person while touching them. I am not a fan of it. I can smell his hair product.
She said to move her head around more. The creator is off camera.
She tried to do what was asked of her, but her body wasn't right.
Your first kiss is on camera, that's what my mind says. It's time to get it over with. She told them to do what they were told. My body does not want this. I don't want this to happen to me. I don't want my first kiss to be a show kiss.
The star said that she suppressed her romantic side because her mother didn't like it. She found filming to be nerve-racking because she didn't have much experience.
If you're Nathan, it seems like you can do it. You can't if you are me. You can't wait for it to be over with, if you're me, you're just thinking about everything that's happening, and your mind is racing.
The Creator approached her after he yelled "cut!" and asked if she wanted to read his note.
She said that the Creator looked right at her but didn't say anything for a while. I thought he might be messing with me for fun, but then I realized he was angry. There is no time for laughing. He spoke.
"'Jennette'" There's more. There's a head. She said that he shouted at the crew to start filming.
She said that she had an "out-of-body experience" in the scene leading up to the kiss.
She wrote that they leaned in. Our lips are close to one another. The lips feel really bad. There are piles of flesh. Being a person is not good.
I have to move my head. I begin to move it. There were back and forth movements. There were back and forth movements. I make it move. I think it doesn't look natural. Nathan broke away as his character Freddie.
She said that The Creator yelled "cut!" and she could tell by his tone that he was not happy with the footage.
The creator asked the assistant director if they had time for another take.
He was terse when he was told that they had to go.
McCurdy wrote in her memoir that he said angrily. It wasn't ideal but we'll move on. I will be at the crafting store.
