  1. WhatsApp has announced several new privacy features arriving on the platform.
  2. Users will be able to hide their online status from contacts and block screenshots for certain messages.
  3. The company also announced that users can now remove messages from a chat two days after they're sent.

Adding features to preserve user privacy is one of the things that is being worked on by the app. The latest features give users more control over their visibility in the app, while giving users more time to take back what they said.

There are a number of privacy features coming to the platform this month. The first of these is an extension of the one the company launched earlier this year. The company used to allow users to hide their online status from strangers. Users will be able to hide their online status from their friends. It will be easier to avoid people you don't want to speak to.

If users no longer want to be in the conversation but don't want to make a spectacle of their departure, they're being allowed to silently dip out of groups. Only admins will know when you leave.

View Once messages are ephemeral images or videos that the receiver can only view once. Screenshot blocking is being tested for View Once messages because they are more sensitive.

After they've been sent, users now have less than two days to remove their messages. Users have a little more time to take back embarrassing images or images that should have been sent as a View Once message. The previous time limit was less than an hour.
