Saints coach Dennis Allen said Jameis Winston sprained his right foot, is “day to day” and they don’t feel it’s anything significant. But he won’t play in the preseason opener.

According to Dennis Allen, the 28-year-old was being evaluated after he "tweaked" his foot during practice. He tore his knee in the middle of the 2021 season.

The Saints were 5-2 when he started. He completed 59 percent of his throws for 1,170 yards.

His impressive statistics haven't led to success in the National Football League, despite the fact that he was the No. 1 pick in the 2015 draft. In 2020 he was a backup for New Orleans and played in the playoffs.

If the Saints can stay healthy, they have a good chance of achieving that.

The star wide receiver missed the entire season with a foot injury. There is an allegation of an assault in Las Vegas during the Pro Bowl weekend. There is no word on whether he will be disciplined by the National Football League.
