The FBI sweep of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate shows that he is not above the law, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The rule of law is something we believe in. "That's what our country is about," Pelosi said in an interview. No one is above the law. The president of the United States isn't included. Not a former president of the US.

The FBI executed a search warrant at Trump's private club and residence in south Florida late Monday, angering Trump and his Republican allies in congress.

Multiple reports say that the raid was related to an investigation into Trump's handling of classified information. In May, a federal grand jury began investigating whether Trump had mishandled top- secret documents.

Trump said in a statement that his beautiful home in Palm Beach, Florida is currently under siege, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by the Radical Left Democrats who don't want me to run for president.

If Republicans regain control of the House, Kevin McCarthy will launch an investigation into the Justice Department's raid on Trump's home.

McCarthy said that when Republicans take back the House, they would conduct immediate oversight of this department.

Pelosi said she didn't know much about the FBI raid until she got a news alert on her cellphone.

We can only speculate as to what the warrant was.

According to the New York Times and Washington Post, the raid appeared to be centered on material Trump took with him from the White House to Mar-a-Lago.
