Serena Williams announces her retirement from tennis

Serena Williams decided to retire in a Vogue article.

Williams doesn't like the term retirement. "Maybe the best word to describe what I'm up to is evolution."

She finishes her career with 73 singles titles, 23 career doubles titles, and $94 million in career winnings.

She said she will quit after the U.S. Open.

She has counted sponsorship from companies such as Nike, Audemars Piguet, Away, Beats, Bumble, Gatorade, Gucci, Lincoln, and Nintendo.

I didn't want to have to choose between the two. I don't think it's right. While my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family, I wouldn't be writing this.
