Sonic’s gotta go fast for a third cinematic outing in December 2024

The film will be released on December 20th, 2024, and it will be the third live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

There is no word on whether Ben Schwartz will return in the title role, or if director Jeff Fowler, writers PatCasey and Josh Miller, or both will return. The release date puts it up against the working title of the second movie in the series, which is called Avatar 3. We've all been waiting for this blue character clash.

In February, it was announced that the third Sonic film was in the works, along with a live-action series about Knuckles for Paramount Plus. I think it is safe to assume that he will return for Sonic's third live-action outing.

It is not certain if Jim Carrey will return as Doctor robotnik. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the actor said that he was going to retire from acting. I have run out of time. Enough has been done by me. Carrey stated at the time that he was enough. If Carrey does retire, the film's producers wouldn't replace him.

The Sonic franchise has two live action films that have been wildly successful at the box office. They have made two of the most successful film video game adaptation ever made.

The highest grossing individual video game adaptation is Duncan Jones's Warcraft, which was released in 2016 and has since grossed almost $440 million worldwide.
