Two new privacy updates are rolling out this month, including the ability to adjust the visibility of your "Last Seen" status on a contact-by-contact basis, and a way to silently leave a group chat.

The "last seen" status of a contact sits atop the conversation thread and informs you when that contact last opened and was active on the app.

There's no way to make exceptions for individual contacts and the setting's options are limited to "Everyone," "My Contacts," and "None."

That will change soon. The option "My Contacts Except..." will allow you to select specific contacts so that they don't see when you were on the messaging network.

When you leave a group chat, the second privacy update will come. The act of leaving a group chat is very public and could be awkward.

A lot of announcements can lead to a lot of coming and going during a conversation, which can cause a distraction to other members.

The administrators of the group are the ones who are notified when you leave a group chat. Only you and group admins will be notified when a group member leaves.

One of the privacy features on its way to the popular messaging platform is a way to block users from taking a picture of a message. After the recipient has seen it once, view once messages don't get deleted, but instead go away.

The idea is that recipients will not be able to save or share sensitive information if they are blocked from doing so. The feature is still being tested and will be rolled out soon.
