The FBI raided the Mar-a-Lago home of the former President on Monday.
Trump said in a statement that the FBI searched the former president's home.
The statement said that my beautiful home, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents.
They broke into my safe. Trump said something else.
Florida Politics reported that the search warrant was executed.
The Justice Department is looking into Trump's involvement in trying to change the result of the election.
According to Barbara McQuade, a former federal prosecutor, the FBI would have to convince a judge that there was probable cause for a specific crime to get a search warrant.
According to McQuade, search warrants come toward the end of an investigation because they require a showing of probable cause and because they tend to tip off the suspect that they are under investigation.
The raid was compared to Watergate by Trump.
The statement asked if there was a difference between Watergate and this.
The representatives for Trump and the FBI didn't reply immediately.
