  • A man in Australia lost his ability to walk because he took too many vitamins.

  • The man had been taking more than the recommended amount.

  • There is very little toxicity for vitamins B6 and B. Patients who experience toxicity can regain their ability to walk if they stop taking the supplements.

More does not mean better.

The man in Australia lost his ability to walk after consuming 70 times the recommended daily dose of vitamins B6 and B6.

The 86-year-old man had previously been active and lived alone, but his daughter said he had a slight deficiency in vitamins B6 and C.

Taylor said her father's doctor gave him a 50-milligram supplement to increase his levels of vitamins B6 and C. B vitamins like B6 help the body break down food into energy drinks. According to research, it can help the body's immune system.

The standard dose in Australia and the US for men over the age of 50 is 1.7 milligrams of vitamins B6 and B6. Chicken, potatoes, and even spaghetti sauce are good sources of B6 for most people.

The man ate breakfast cereals fortified with B6 and took a magnesium supplement that contained B6 as well.

He went to the hospital after he lost the feeling in his legs.

Twelve months ago he was behind the steering wheel. Taylor said that her father was in aged care and in a wheelchair.

More and more people are taking dangerous amounts of supplements

More Americans are falling ill due to taking too much because of the increase in demand for supplements. In the last 10 years, the number of calls to poison control centers about kids taking too much melatonin has gone up. Taking too many vitamins can lead to bone pain and hair loss.

According to Harvard, most Americans are not deficient in B6 because they eat a lot of B6 in a variety of common foods.

Insider previously reported that certain medical conditions can make people more susceptible to a deficiency of vitamins B6 and C. Inflammation, a weakened immune system, and depression can be caused by deficiency in the vitamins.

According to the American Academy of Neurology, there isn't much of a chance of nerve damage from an overdose of vitamins B6 and B6.

According to Mount Sinai, a loss of feeling to the legs can be caused by a high dose of vitamins B6 and B6a. If patients stop taking the supplements, they can regain the ability to walk.

Taylor doesn't know if her father will see a full recovery, but she hopes physical therapy will help him be less dependent on his wheelchair.
