Goal, goal, goal There were 76 goals in 20 MLS games as we head into the All-Star break.

It's a hell of a week to be a fan when almost every game features both teams banging in goals. How each goal impacts the race isUnderlying all of them.

The playoff race is getting bigger by the week as the Colorado Rapids and New England Revolution have been performing well. There is more to it than the amazement that comes with a substitute defender annihilating a ball from 30 yards to win a match.

It is beautiful. What do the teams do after all those goals? Let's get started.

1. LAFC

The previous ranking was one.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Is it the highlight of LAFC's win in Salt Lake that they turned back the clock with a defense-eviscerating run, that Christian Arango scored two more, or that Giorgio Chiellini's hilarious handball was the highlight? The black and gold are making noise.

2. New York City FC

The previous ranking was three.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

You don't blame a team for losing in Columbus and NYCFC did score two goals against the Crew, but the hole left by Valentin Castellanos looks bigger by the day.

3. Philadelphia Union

The previous rank was 2.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

The Union have only won one of their last seven games. The boys said to lay off thechili.

4. Austin FC

The previous ranking was four.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Sebastian Driussi having to score two more goals just to draw San Jose, 3-3, at home as cause for concern, but others might see putting your star in position to be heroic as a gift to the public. I would like to thank Austin.

play

Paul Marie scored in the 20th minute.

5. New York Red Bulls

The previous ranking was five.

The next MLS game is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

The Red Bulls lost to the Rapids in a crazy game and then were blanked by D.C.

6. CF Montreal

The previous ranking was seven.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

When you win in Columbus a few days later, you can forget about the home draw against Miami. Montreal has to find a way to keep James on his shoulders.

7. FC Dallas

The previous ranking was six.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

FCD took just one point from their trip to Seattle and Portland, but finally getting to see someone else put together a good performance, only to blow it. It had to be a dream for Dallas to watch the Timbers put the ball in their own net in the final seconds of the game.

play

Diego Chara scored his own goal in the 100th minute to give Dallas the draw.

8. Real Salt Lake

The previous rank was 9.

The next MLS match is on Sunday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Losses to LAFC don't count. Thank you for your week off, Real Salt Lake.

9. Minnesota United

The previous ranking was eight.

The next MLS match is on Sunday. Time.

The Loons' 4-3 loss to Colorado wasn't pretty but it was their first loss since June and Emanuel Reynoso didn't play. In the Twin Cities, nobody is allowed to be stressed out.

10. FC Cincinnati

The previous ranking was twelve.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

One of the best teams in MLS, anchored by an all-time great defense, was absolutely destroyed by the Cincy team. Philadelphia has given up a lot of goals this season. It was a good way to celebrate Brandon's selection to the All-Star team.

11. Columbus Crew

The previous ranking was fourteen.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Everything Cucho and Lucas do is good. There was a loss to Montreal and a win over NYCFC.

12. Nashville SC

The previous ranking was ten.

The next MLS match is on Sunday. Time.

13. Colorado Rapids

The previous ranking was 18.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

The Rapids are three points back of a playoff spot after scoring nine goals in two wins. You have to like their chances if they keep scoring 4.5 goals per game.

14. Portland Timbers

The previous rank was 11.

The next MLS game is Sunday at Toronto FC. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

It's good to miss the playoffs if you turn wins into draws. The Timbers could be in trouble this winter if they allow an own goal in the 10th minute of the Dallas game.

15. Seattle Sounders

The previous ranking was fifteen.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Lose to Atlanta. This season's biggest shrug team is Seattle.

16. Orlando City

The previous ranking was 13.

The next MLS game is Saturday at New York Red Bulls. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

With every loss, this time at home against a New England team ravaged by injuries, it becomes more and more important that they win the Open Cup.

17. Toronto FC

The previous ranking was twenty.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

It's even better for a neutral if TFC flies high with Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi. In their 4-3 victory over Nashville, Toronto's defense forced them to score in order to win.

play

Lorenzo Insigne scored a goal.

18. Inter Miami CF

The previous rank was 17

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

They were sent to San Jose and Montreal over the course of a week. They asked Miami to lose, but they won on the west coast and with a draw up north. It's a fancy computer that makes the schedule.

19. New England Revolution

The previous rank was 21.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Who is the favorite for the final playoff spot in the East now that a dominant win in Orlando has been recorded, is anyone's guess? I would say "uh oh, the Revs are pretty damn good now", but Bruce Arena probably wouldn't like word to get around so *whisper* "uh oh, the Revs are pretty damn good now"

20. Charlotte FC

The previous rank was 19

The next MLS game is Saturday at LAFC. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Charlotte lost to Chicago and beat D.C. Their next two games are away from home. Good luck.

21. Chicago Fire

The previous rank was 23.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

The Fire might be able to get into the playoffs if they got 10 cents for every dime Xherdan dropped. They're trying to get that done after two more assists from Shaqiri.

22. LA Galaxy

The previous rank was 16.

The next MLS game is Saturday against the Whitecaps. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

You're still the same club that missed the playoffs in five of the last six seasons even though you lost 4-2 to a team that is one of the worst in the league.

23. Vancouver Whitecaps

The previous rank was 22.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Down half a team due to health and safety protocols and trailing in the waning minutes, the Whitecaps were supposed to fall out of the playoffs, but they called upon the ancient soccer tactics of flying elbows, launched long balls, deflections and a helping hand from a bad Houston team to steal There is still a push for the playoffs.

24. Atlanta United FC

The previous rank was 24.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

Andrew Gutman asked why not him. He was correct and the Five Stripes won.

play

Andrew Gutman scored in the last minute to give Atlanta United a victory.

25. San Jose Earthquakes

The previous rank was 26.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

One of the best goals a player can score is goingcorner. I don't need to move. I'm going to hit the ball, you know what I mean? Is it possible to do that from 35 yards? It's perfect. Paul Marie was perfect in a draw against Austin and that cancels out a bad loss to Miami.

26. Sporting Kansas City

The previous rank was 28.

The next MLS match is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

In attack, defense, and the VAR booth, theSporting were better than theGalaxy. You can increase your goals scored by 21% in one night.

27. D.C. United

The previous rank was 27.

The next MLS game is Saturday at New England Revolution. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

What really matters is that the Red Bulls are hurting. The mission was accomplished with a stalemate. It was United's first clean sheet in 13 games and was probably inspired by the trim work on Rooney's beard.

28. Houston Dynamo

The previous rank was 26.

The next MLS game is on Saturday. There is an hour and a half on the Disney+ channel.

The Whitecaps had half their team in health and safety protocols and took a lead into the 88th minute but still went full Sideshow Bob. It's really sad.
