"I'm leaving Kody," Christine Brown says in the trailer.
"Robyn's more important to Kody than anything else," she said in the interview.
Christine's choice caused Kody's other wives to be upset.
The trailer for season 17 shows that Christine and Kody Brown's marriage will end.
Christine tells Kody that being his wife for years has been heartbreaking.
Christine told producers that she felt like Kody was more important. Kody's third wife feels like her husband has been in charge of a hierarchy among his wives for a long time and his fourth wife is the one who is at the top.
In the trailer, Christine says she agreed to be an equal wife, but she also agreed to be a sister wife.
Christine says in the trailer that she's leaving Kody and viewers can't see who she's talking to.
In November of 2021, the former spouses announced their separation on social media.
Kody and Christine were married in a religious ceremony that was not recognized by the law in 1994. They have six children with each other.
The first episode of "Sister Wives" aired in the fall of 2010 and fans of the show know that Christine has been struggling with Kody's marriage to Robyn since the beginning of the show.
There was tension between the former spouses because of the location of the family.
The polygamous family of Kody and his four wives and 18 children were relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, because they were being investigated in Utah for their polygamous lifestyle. The Brown family has lived in Flaggstaff, Arizona, in the past, where they plan to build houses on a large piece of property.
According to the New York Times, Christine wanted to return to Utah since it was decriminalized in 2020. Kody's strict rules regarding COVID-19 put a strain on his relationships with multiple wives.
The Brown's were isolated during COVID, with each of the children still living at home. Kody wouldn't visit houses that didn't follow his strict rules, which included not visiting adult children or other wives, changing clothes after going out, and sterilizing mail and groceries before entering.
Christine traveled to the east coast so her daughter could get an operation for her spine condition, as she was seen on "Sister Wives".
Kody had been estranged from his first wife for a long time, so he only visited her and her kids for the most part of the epidemic.
In the trailer for the new season, the wife of Kody stated that she was not ready for Christine to leave.
"I wouldn't do anything to hurt this family, that's for sure," she says. I want people to see that.
In the trailer for the new season, Kody can be seen screaming in anger during a meeting with his wives. She's never tried to have a good relationship with other people in the family, he says.
After all of the sacrifice I made to love you, Christine's decision to leave is aknife in the kidneys.
The 17th season of "Sister Wives" will premiere on the cable network. There is an hour and a half later.
