John posted a photo of a rocket symbolizing his song "Rocket Man" and a rose symbolizing Spears' favorite color.
Variety says the song is coming soon.
A new version of John's "Tiny Dancer" is rumored to be on the single.
Spears had largely disappeared from the music scene in the last few years while fighting a conservatorship that left several court-appointed people, including her father Jamie, in charge of her career and her financial and personal decisions She released a re-release of her 2016 album Glory in 2020. Spears was freed from her conservatorship last November and is rumored to be writing a book about it. Spears married her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, in June, but she said she was prevented from doing it when she was in the control of her husband.
The first update to a John song won't be this one. The Lockdown Session was released last year and featured duets with current artists. Spears and John were working together.
