The FAA said Boeing is expected to resume deliveries in the near future.
The wide-body jetliners have not been delivered for much of the past two years because of manufacturing flaws.
The FAA said that Boeing made the necessary changes to make sure the new plane met all standards. Each aircraft will be inspected by the FAA before an airworthiness certificate is issued.
The delivery delays have been a problem for customers of American Airlines and United Airlines.
According to the CFO of American, the airline will be the first in the world to receive a new plane from Boeing in August.
