The piece of legislation that addresses climate change and healthcare was passed by the US Senate on Sunday. The country's future could be impacted by key energy and environment parts.

The bill created $4,000 in tax credits for lower-income consumers who purchase a used electric vehicle and up to $7,500 in tax credits for those who purchase a new electric car. It gives tax breaks to US residents who use eco-friendly renewable energy sources.

$60 billion in production tax incentives is included in the bill to make sure that more solar panels, wind turbine and other energy products are made in the US. It created $4 billion in relief funds for states that are suffering from the western draught and will help pay for projects to increase Colorado River levels.

Nancy Pelosi said in a statement that the bill may clear the final hurdle in the House of Representatives and become law.

Enough Already

While heat waves cause power grid instabilities and even some crypto mining rigs to shut down, near record-smashing rainfall trapped 1,000 people in Death Valley National park over the weekend. 75 percent of the region's annual rain can't be absorbed by the dried out dirt.

The new legislation would be the largest investment the US has ever made to slow global warming.

Even if these measures pass, it's not clear if they're enough.

Almost every turtle is being born female due to global warming.
