A fourth set of human remains has been found at the lake as the western US continues to suffer from the effects of a severe dry spell.

There are buried secrets and gruesome finds in the Lake Mead area.

The local Clark county coroner is assessing the fourth set of remains found at Swim Beach in Nevada. The manner of death is not known.

The National Park Service said that the remains were recovered with the help of the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department.

The water source for 25 million people is in danger because the lake is at its lowest level in more than 80 years. It is a popular recreation site for hundreds of miles and has been hurt by the dry spell.

The gruesome discovery of bodies as the water goes down has captured a gruesome slice of the public imagination.

The remains of a man shot in the mid-1970s and the early 1980s were found in a barrel by boaters. Two sisters discovered a skeleton on a sand bar. A third set of bones was discovered at the beach.
