13 Hessian soldiers are thought to have died in the Revolutionary War.
The remains of a human were discovered in June at the site of the Battle of Red Bank, which took place in 1777.
The university said that they found the remains of 12 more people at the site. They found a King George III gold guinea that would equate to a soldier's monthly pay.
It became clear to us that this was more than one person. "We were looking at a mass grave and, in all likelihood, a Hessian mass grave."
"Based on everything we've found, the context of what we've found, and the artifacts and objects that are in place with them, we think they're Hessian soldiers," Catts said.

The British crown was defended in the American Revolution by a group of Germans. Over 30,000 people crossed the Atlantic to help destroy the United States.
Historians say they were paid auxiliaries to the British army, despite being considered mercenaries by the American revolutionaries.
The Hessians suffered 377 casualties out of 2,000 ordered to lay siege in the Battle of Red Bank. 500 black and white soldiers were fighting for freedom and only 14 were killed.
