The focus is often on alcohol, especially great champagne, when talking about drinks in first class. It doesn't say that everyone drinks alcohol. Many people who usually drink don't want alcohol when flying because it's not good for jet lag.

I wanted to talk about the airlines that serve the best non- alcoholic beverages. A lot of airlines invest in bottles of champagne, but then have a lackluster non- alcoholic drink list.

Some of my favorite drinks are served on airlines. These are just some of my favorites, and I would love to hear what other people think. As much as I love great coffee, I am avoiding the generic drinks that are found on dozens of airlines. I'm trying to include more rare options.

Below are some of my favorites.

Cathay Delight on Cathay Pacific

One of Cathay Pacific's signature drinks is the Cathay delight. It includes fresh mint and coconut milk. It is refreshing and tasty at the same time. It was really good.

Lemon mint juice on Qatar Airways

I don't drink juice on flights. It isn't fresh often. The term "airplane orange juice" should give you a sense of my feelings on the subject. I have one favorite juice, and that is the lemon mint juice from the airlines. I order this on a lot of flights.

Blueberry juice on Finnair

Finnair is known for its use of berries in its cuisine, and it serves a unique berry juice on its flights. One of the best juice drinks you can find on an airline is this. It is so popular that you can buy it in certain supermarkets in the country.

Teh tarik on Malaysia Airlines

A hot, traditional milk tea is called teh tarik. Even on short haul flights, it can be found in Malaysia Airlines business class.

Hong Kong style milk tea on Cathay Pacific

Milk tea is traditionally made with black tea. This is served in first class but the airline makes it with a powdered mix. It is still a treat to get on a plane, even though it is not as good as on the ground. Don't think of it as a cup of tea, instead think of it as a dessert type of treat.

Karak chai on Qatar Airways

Karak Chai is a strong tea with some milk and sugar and can be found in both saffron and cardamom flavours. I like the saffron flavor better than the other one. If you want to try it, I recommend ordering one with the first meal service because it's often out of stock.

Iced coffee creations on Austrian Airlines

Austrian Airlines serves a variety of Eiskaffee specialties on their coffee menu. Ice cream, coffee, and whipped cream are typically included in this dessert. Mmmm...

Iced coffee on Royal Brunei, EVA Air, & Starlux Airlines

There are a lot of airlines that serve hot coffee, but not many that serve iced coffee on planes. Iced coffee has become more and more popular around the world, and it seems like it's a low cost option. Iced coffee was served in business class by several airlines.

Cold brew on Delta

Delta launched a partnership with Explorer Cold brew and now serves cold brew on some premium routes. It's free in business class and Comfort+ and can be purchased in the economy. I would like to see this expanded to more US airlines.

Iced oat milk cappuccinos on JetBlue

When it comes to an impressive iced coffee game, I don't think anyone can match the quality of JetBlue Mint. Iced drinks are available at the airline. oat milk is available for those who prefer non- dairy products.

Bottom line

Most airlines serve expensive champagne in first class, but few serve great non- alcoholic drinks. There are some hot and cold drinks in the sky that I like.
