According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the team has turned down the request of running back Kareem Hunt to be traded.

He asked for an extension in the spring, but was denied. The veteran is only taking part in individual drills during training camp as he searches for a new home.

He will be fined for missing drills.

Hunt had 386 rushing yards and five touchdown in eight games last year. He caught 22 passes for 174 yards.

Though calf and ankle injuries cost him time in the future, he still saw a smaller role than he had in the past. Hunt had 1,145 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdown in 2020.

When on the field, Hunt is still effective. He would've been 10th in the NFL with his 4.9 yards per carry, and seventh among running backs. When active, he saw just 44 percent of offensive snaps, the lowest mark of his career.

He showed that he could be a difference maker as a featured back when he was with the Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt had 1,202 yards and 14 scores in 11 games in his second year, after he had 1,782 yards and 11 scores in his first year.
