An updated version of the full-sized HomePod is expected to be released in the early months of 2023, according to Mark Gurman.

Gurman reported in his Power On newsletter that Apple is considering an update to the HomePod mini. Gurman doesn't give any details on what a possible update could include, but he says it's unlikely to be anything "super-impressive."

The original full-sized HomePod will be discontinued in March 2021. A new multi-touch display is rumored to be part of the updated version of the HomePod.

According to Gurman, the new full-sized HomePod is on track for a launch in early next year.

Gurman has reported before that Apple is working on a number of new products for the Home. A project that combines a speaker, Apple TV functions, and a FaceTime camera into one device is said to be the most ambitious.

A device that combines an iPad and a speaker connected to a robotic arm is being worked on by Apple. Gurman expects at least one of these two Home products to launch in the next few years.
