Lance said that things are slowing down for him as he tries to improve in his first training camp as a starter.

The entire offense as well as the quarterback struggled. The Browns are waiting for the outcome of the case ofWatson, who is facing a suspension of at least six games after being accused of sexual assault and other inappropriate conduct during massage sessions. While he waits for an extension, Kareem Hunt will not participate in team drills.

The New York Jets hosted a free agent tackle as they searched for quality depth. He started every game for the Seattle Seahawks last year.

Trent McDuffie is starting to establish himself as a person to watch as the Kansas City Chiefs look to replace All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill.

In his best practice of camp Saturday, the first-round pick worked with the starters.

You need to know what to expect from the camps.

What our reporters saw

What our NFL Nation reporters saw Saturday

Kyler Murray was the only player left on the field at State Farm Stadium to sign autographs. He ran across the field and signed things for fans on the other side of the stadium. Murray didn't take part in practice after missing the past five days because of a bout.

Lance said after Saturday's practice that he feels like things are slowing down for him, and he believes he has shown improvement over the course of the week. Lance thinks the game slows down every time he takes a rep. Lance had a good day on Friday and a bad day on Saturday. Lance almost threw a pick-six to CB Emanuel Moseley during team drills and later threw a pick-six to safety Jimmie Ward. Lance followed with a touchdown drive in the two minute drill, completing 5 of 6 passes and capping it with a tough throw to receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III. Lance is facing a loaded defense that he believes will help him improve as he continues his first training camp as an NFL starter.

The Jets hosted a free agent on Saturday looking for offensive tackle depth. The team's annual Green & White scrimmage was going to be attended by Brown, a five-time Pro Bowl selection. As a backup swing tackle, Brown would be a good insurance policy. He started every game for the Seahawks last year. Both of the current backups are not certain of making the team.

A number of snaps without a player having his hand on the ground were thrown by the Cowboys' defense. There was a lot of pressure on the quarterback from the two players. The offense had a couple of touchdown catches in the last part of the session, one of which came from Will Grier. The end of practice was when the rookies found the end zone on a seam ball. The Cowboys are going to have two practices in California before flying to Denver to practice against the Broncos.

More than 50 people were asked to rank every position's top 10.

Offense: QB | RB | WR | TE | OT | G/C

The Philadelphia Eagles have three starting defensive backs who have taken turns at practice. Slay was at work on Saturday. During 7-on-7s, he stayed step-for-step with Watkins down the right sideline, then leaped for a Hurts offering, securing the ball as he crashed to the ground for the pick. The first-team defense has had a great camp so far.

While the quarterbacks were on display during Saturday's scrimmage, Ikem Ekwonu was also on display. Ekwonu got more reps there than usual in a session that was as game-like as the staff could make it. Ekwonu is far from winning the position. Matt Rhule said that he had a long way to go for the second day in a row. At the end, he gave up a big sack. He needs to continue to develop pass protection and I'm not worried about the run-blocking. He's right where he's supposed to be, but that doesn't mean you can have three good plays and then a drop. The quarterback is hit if the left tackle drops.

The play of the day came from Feleipe Franks. Franks appeared to be falling on a ball that didn't seem to be thrown well by Ridder. Franks grabbed the ball while on the ground. The player converted from quarterback to tight end. Franks makes a flash play or two every day and he's getting better as a blocker. The potential head coach Arthur Smith and the coaching staff can see in him, even though most of this work has been against the second team.

Trent McDuffie had his best practice of training camp. Two pass breakups in a two-minute drill were among his highlights. He said he has been working on finishing plays. McDuffie has been playing both on the outside and in the slot for the starting team.

For the first week and a half of camp, the attention went to the fourth-round pick. The Packers practiced at Lambeau Field for Family Night. Samori Toure turned heads for the first time, even though he didn't perform, because he made a nice catch on a deep ball. His best practice to date was when he caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love, which was the highlight of the practice. The Packers might need Toure to be ready for the start of the season if second-round pick Christian Watson isn't ready for the opener.

According to a league source, the running back will not take part in team drills until he gets an extension. Hunt's deal is about to end. He signed a two-year contract extension with the Browns in 2020. Hunt is the second running back on the Cleveland team. Hunt was a hold-in, which means he's not participating in practice.

It was a rough day for the offense as they await the fate of quarterback Deshaun Watson who is facing a suspension of at least six games after being accused of sexual assault and other inappropriate conduct during massage sessions in civil lawsuits filed by 25 women. On the first play of Saturday's practice, the ball bounced off the chest of David Njoku and into the arms of CB Greg Newsome II, who returned it for a touchdown. The offense didn't perform well for the rest of the day.

The Ravens had a scare when Mark Andrews got his foot stuck in the ground as he tried to catch a pass. John Harbaugh kept him out of the rest of the drills for the day after he bounced back. Harbaugh had seen enough of Mark. Harbaugh was told by Andrew that he was practicing his slide. Harbaugh said that it was not one of his better slides. All of the tight ends had at least one catch last year. He had more than 50 catches for the Ravens last year.

The competition has gradually increased throughout training camp and it was obvious Saturday during the third practice in pads. The coaches and teammates of the quarterback say that he has taken the next step in his development. The third-year quarterback is a lot more comfortable this year than he was last year. He's locked in, he's experimenting a little bit with some throws, but he's good, he's a little more aggressive. Herbert's connection with receiver Keenan Allen appears to be in better shape than it was a few weeks ago. A scrimmage will be held on Sunday.

Injuries have forced the Broncos to change the way they do things at wide receiver. Tim Patrick is out for the season with a knee injury, and Tyrie Cleveland is out for at least one month with a damaged throat. Washington, a fifth-round pick in this year's draft, has been working with the starters at times. Washington has taken advantage of it with precise routes and a willingness to work in traffic that has earned him trust from Wilson. Washington is in the running to be a returner.

Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell spoke about Bradbury's camp performance on Saturday. Bradbury has been good in the run game, but he has been isolated against players who have won the rep against him, according to O'Connell. O'Connell said that it was too early to make any assessments and that he was not concerned. Bradbury's situation is crucial. The Vikings' new regime didn't pick up the fifth-year option on his contract after he was benched by the former coach. No one who would be expected to beat out Bradbury in camp was signed as a guard or center backup. O'Connell's comments suggest the Vikings are not giving up on Bradbury. They still hope that they can scheme to protect him from some of those isolation blocks, and they'll rely on KirkCousins to help get the team in better looks at the line of scrimmage. There will be times when the Vikings will depend on Bradbury to make tough blocks in pass protection, and it remains an open question if he is up to it.

Top NFL news of the day

The Chicago Bears offensive tackle came back to training camp on Saturday after missing seven practices with an injury. In the ramp up period, he only participated in individual drills. The second-year lineman wouldn't say if he got hurt during the team's first practice of the season, or if he's still dealing with back issues after undergoing surgery, but he estimated that he should be at 100 percent.

The quarterback battle will not be decided until after the preseason game at New England. Rhule won't declare a winner if one hasn't clearly separated from the other after two practices and a game.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas participated in 11-on-11 drills on Saturday. For the first time since the end of the 2020 season, Thomas took part in 11-on-11 drills. Thomas was able to practice on the first day of camp and return to 7-on-7 drills on the second day.

The New York Giants have confirmed that Marcus McKethan will miss the rest of the season due to a torn anterior cruciateeum. After he was carted off the field during a scrimmage, he was afraid. He was put on the injured list.
