It is rare to find titles that combine puzzlers and rhythm games. It was lucky for me that I stumbled across Eloh.
It is not a true rhythm game, but it is still a great example of how music can be used in puzzle games.
There is a puzzle game called Eloh. Aligning masks in the right way will help good spirits get their rhythm on. The hand-drawn designs in Eloh are gorgeous and you can get spirit art when you pass certain levels.
You can start making beats by clicking on one of the speakers in each level. The beats travel in a straight line until they run into an obstacle. Each level has a host of spirit masks, a set of possible locations to put them in, and a goal for your beats to eventually make it to the next level. If you drag and drop masks around, your beats will be directed to the goal.

Eloh is a casual puzzle game all about relaxing and finding your groove.
Once the game starts adding in new spirits, the first few levels are very easy. New spirit masks change your beats and often require their own type of goal so you have to use your brain to solve these simple puzzles as they get more and more complicated.
The soundtrack in Eloh is great, as you would expect from a game that bases itself on music. Eloh's music is heavy on percussion and generous with its use of the Marimba. This is a game that will require you to run to the internet to play it.

Eloh doesn't have a hint system, that's one of the biggest drawbacks. Line Blaster had a hint system in which you could earn up to three hints if you completed the levels on your own.
A hint system would have been helpful at the higher end of Eloh. If you use a single hint, you can tell where to put just one or two masks, with more correct placement being revealed as you use more hints.
If you end up stuck on a level and can't figure out how to solve the puzzle, you'll have to look up the solution online and hope someone else has posted one.

You can get Eloh in the Play Store for $1, but it is also free for Play Pass subscribers. This premium game doesn't contain ads or in-app purchases, so it's a great choice for travel gaming.
Eloh will make our list of the best Play Pass games soon. The overall experience remains chill and fun despite the crazy levels in the latter levels.
