There is a person called the Sandman.

Netflix

Many thought that the project would be unfilmable, but it has been a hit for the streaming service. It was the opinion of the last 35 years or so, according to its creator.

With the freedom and budget of prestige TV, which is why he came on to help make the series, it appears like it will work out for everyone.

Virgin River and Keep Breathing have both been passed up on the Top 10 list by The Sandman. Normally, you'll see a new show at #2 or #3 until word of mouth spreads, but Sandman appears to have jumped up to the top, indicating a very strong start.

As we wait and see if The Sandman will get a second season after this debut here, other indicators are promising. If you have watched the first few episodes, you can see the show in the Dream and Hell kingdoms, but it is clearly expensive.

I would have expected The Sandman to be hard to please with how much pressure there is on an adaptation of a beloved classic. Everyone agrees that they did a great job here.

I think it's odd that this is a DC comic adaptation and a Warner Bros. movie, in an era where WB is struggling to get consistent quality out of its own DC projects. It seems like this production was in the works for a long time, predating all the current WB drama, like how the Disney+ purge happened.

I am pretty sure that this kind of performance from Sandman, both in terms of these scores and this initial top 10 placement, indicates to me that they will continue investing. I'm not sure if the deal with WB will make the show vulnerable, as they have to take their wins where they can get them. We will have to wait and watch.
