Manchester United have signed a player from the WSL.

A two-year contract has been signed by the 28-year-old forward after a deal was agreed before the European Championships.

At this summer's Women's Euros, she was a part of the team that won the title after defeating Germany at Wembley.

After two seasons at Lyon, where she won the Europe's premier club competition, she only made one start and scored one WSL goal for the Gunners as they finished second in the league, a point behind title-holdersChelsea.

United finished 14 points behind the WSL champion last season and hope the signing of Parris can help bridge the gap.

If she were to move to Manchester United, she would have the chance to draw a line under her struggles to establish a regular starting role at the club and further strengthen her claim to retain her place in the squad for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in three years' time.

It's amazing to be here. "It's been quite a summer, and this is the last one." I can't wait to be a part of Manchester United's future success, they are a historic club who are making big movements in the WSL.

I want to help the team move forward and grow. The intention of the club to do that is shown by the fact that there are other new signings this summer. I'm happy to be here and ready to start.

"Nikita will be a great addition to our team," said Skinner.

She is a winner on both the domestic and international stage and will bring maturity to the environment.

"Securing a player of Nikita's caliber cements this great club's ambition for the season ahead and we look forward to welcoming her into pre-season!"
