One of the best credit cards that doesn't have an annual fee is the Citi rewards+ card. Since the card can be worth having even if you don't spend a lot of money, if you have a credit card that earns ThankYou points, you should also have it. The details of this card need to be looked at in a bit more detail.

A lot of people could benefit from the Citi rewards card. The ability to round up points on every purchase is one of the features that you won't find on other cards.

The current best-ever welcome bonus is one of the reasons this card is a great complement to the Citi ThankYou points cards.

Citi Rewards+ Card Welcome Bonus Of 20K Points & More

There is a two part welcome bonus on offer.

  • Earn 20,000 bonus ThankYou points after spending $1,500 within the first three months
  • For a limited time, earn 5x ThankYou points at restaurants, on up to $6,000 spent in the category in the first 12 months (and then 1x points after that)

If you spend a lot of money on dining, this is a great bonus for a no annual fee card. You are eligible for this card and bonus even if you have had it before. Citi used to require this card to be in use for 24 months.

You can be approved for a Citi card at most one time every eight days, and at most two times every 65 days.

There is a chance that this card could be used as a downgrade option. If you keep the Citi Premier or Citi Prestige for a year, you should be able to upgrade it to the Citi rewards+.

Citi Rewards+ Card 2x Points Bonus Categories

The Citi rewards card has bonuses that make it worth it. The card gives 2x ThankYou points at supermarkets and gas stations for the first $6,000 spent per calendar year.

Many families spend a lot of money on groceries and gas, so supermarkets and gas stations are potentially valuable bonus categories. The card has foreign transaction fees, so I wouldn't recommend it for use outside of the US.

Citi Rewards+ Card Rounds Up Purchases

The Citi rewards card has a bonus that will round up purchases to the nearest ThankYou points.

A $1 purchase would net you 10 ThankYou points, which is why the round up feature is important. The bonus categories can be combined. If you spent $6 at a supermarket, you would earn 20 points, 12 for earning 2x points, and the rest would be rounded up to 20 points.

When issuers think outside the box, I like it. It's great to get these bonus categories for a card.

Citi Rewards+ Card 10% Points Back On Redemptions

In addition to the 2x points and rounding up feature, the Citi rewards card offers a nice perk when you redeem points, which is my favorite feature of this card.

You can get 10% points back for the first 100,000 ThankYou points you redeem with the Citi rewards card.

If you redeem 100,000 ThankYou points per year, you will get the equivalent of 10,000 points every year. That is a great incentive to keep this card. Transferring points to ThankYou would cause this.

Citi Rewards+ Card No Annual Fee

The Citi rewards card has no annual fee, so you can keep it and not have to pay anything. It helps your average age of accounts if you have some cards for a long period of time.

What Points Does The Citi Rewards+ Card Earn?

My preferred method of using ThankYou points is to transfer them to the airline and hotel partners of my choice.

You can redeem points at thankyou.com if you have this card with the other cards. You should be able to link this card with other cards.

This card will earn points that can be transferred to airlines and hotel partners, so it's fantastic if you plan on having the Citi premier card or the Citi prestige card.

How Much Are Citi ThankYou Points Worth?

When you can transfer Citi ThankYou points to an airline or hotel partner, I think they're worth 1.7 cents each. Most of the major transferrable points currencies are valued that way. It is great to be able to transfer Citi ThankYou points to many airlines.

If you have the card in conjunction with the premier card, you can get more points on the rewards card. Points earned on the card are only worth a cent each. If you want to get the Citi rewards+ card, you should also get the Citi premier card.

I value Citi ThankYou points highly for the travel redemption opportunities

Is The Citi Rewards+ Card Worth It?

The Citi rewards card is a great complement to the premier card. If you redeem 100,000 ThankYou points per year, you will get 10,000 ThankYou points back every year, even if you don't spend a lot of money on the card.

It's worth it for small purchases with the ability to have your purchases rounded up to the nearest ThankYou points. You should have this card if you are in the ThankYou points system.

Citi Rewards+ Vs. Citi Double Cash

The Citi Double Cash Card is one of my favorite Citi cards. I think the Citi Double Cash is the best no annual fee card.

  • The Citi Double Cash earns 1x ThankYou points when you make a purchase, and 1x ThankYou points when you pay for that purchase
  • In conjunction with the Citi Premier, rewards earned on the Citi Double Cash can also be transfered to airline & hotel partners, making them significantly more valuable than one cent each (otherwise each point can be redeemed for one cent)
  • This essentially means that the Citi Double Cash can earn you two transferable ThankYou points per dollar spent

I think both of these cards can be understood.

  • The Citi Double Cash is an incredibly well-rounded card for everyday spending, whether you’re looking to earn cash back or rewards points
  • The Citi Rewards+ is great for small purchases and for the 10% rebate on redemptions, and a fantastic complement to the Citi Premier

I think it would be a good idea to have both of these cards, since there is no cost to hold onto them. Given the huge value of having a good credit card duo, you should pick up one of the cards.

An amazing three card combination

The Citi rewards+ card is a no annual fee card that can add value for earning and redeem ThankYou points, so it is a great complement to the premier card. Bonus points can be earned in certain categories, and your purchases can be rounded up to the nearest 10 points.

Thanks to the 10% refund credit on redemptions, this card will give you up to 10,000 points back annually. It is great to see that Citi continues to build its portfolio of ThankYou points-earning cards.

The Citi Double Cash Card is one of my go-to cards for everyday spending and is free of annual fees.
