  • A forensic economist testified that Alex Jones was moving money into a shell company.

  • The jury ordered Jones to pay over forty million dollars in damages for making a false claim about the Sandy Hook shooting.

  • Jones benefits from his debt because he makes him look worse than he really is.

A forensic economist testified Friday that Alex Jones moved $11,000 per day into an alleged shell company around the time that he was found liable in several defamation suits.

A jury was tasked this week with deciding how much Jones should pay in damages to two parents who sued him for defamation after he claimed that the school shooting was a hoax.

The jury ordered Jones to pay less than the $150 million Heslin and Lewis asked for. The judge presiding over the defamation damages hearing cut Jones off when he said that any amount over $2 million would sink his channel. Jones was ordered to pay over forty million dollars in damages.

The jury heard testimony in relation to Jones' financial standing as they continued to assess damages against him.

Jones' net worth was not known due to how little information he provided during litigation, according to Bernard Pettingill, a forensic economist.

Jones and his company Free Speech Systems have a net worth of up to $270 million, according to a forensic economist's estimate. Pettingill said Jones looks like he's in deep financial trouble when he's actually not because of his $53 million debt to another company.

"We don't know what he does for a living, how he makes his money, but he's a very successful man," Pettingill said.

According to Pettingill, the host of theInfowars was funneling thousands of dollars per day into a shell company he controls. He was found liable by default in the Texas defamation cases around the same time.

Jones' attorney said that it was a real company that would mature when Jones is 74.
