Code in the Google TV app suggests 50 free TV channels are coming

Wouldn't it be great if you could get free streaming TV channels without having to sign up? You might be getting that soon if you are a user of the latest version of the software.

According to the text in the app, the new feature is called "Google TV Channels". There is an image in the software that shows what channels will be included. ABC News Live, NBC News Now, and USA Today are some of the channels that are internet-streamed. There are a lot of noise channels like Divorce Court and Deal or no Deal. The one where a big city lawyer learns to love the simple things after falling in love with a rugged baker is a good one to watch. A friend of mine plays a soft-spoken cop on the Reelz channel.

You can find many of these channels on other streaming TV services. The approach that some TV manufacturers are taking with their Smart TVs is giving buyers something to watch in just a few clicks on a remote. You don't have to buy a whole new TV or download an app to take advantage of the 50 channels that are available on the internet.
